NOTICE: The Charleston Airshow will be broadcasted over frequency 98.9 FM radio.
We are closely monitoring the weather conditions throughout the weekend and there are no indications of needing to cancel the Airshow at this time.
Prohibited and Permitted Items
At Joint Base Charleston, we are happy to have you as our guests. We will do everything to ensure that your Air Show experience is safe and enjoyable. Every effort will be made to minimize delays in entering and leaving the air show.
We ask for your cooperation in keeping potentially dangerous items safely outside the base. ALL bags will be quickly inspected and all individuals are subject to search prior to entering the main gates.

× Prohibited Items
The following items will not be permitted on the flight line and are subject to confiscation:
- Weapons (regardless of permit) including firearms, knives, replica, or toy weapons
- Coolers (Exception: baby food, medication, small size 10x7x7 inches)
- Ammunition or any form of explosives
- This is a non-smoking airshow: to include eCigs, vape pens, cigars, cigarettes
- Spark producing devices (lighters, matches, etc.)
- Pets (except service animals assisting those with disabilities)
- Tents, portable or temporary awnings
- Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, rollerblade, ATVs, Golf Carts, any Two-Wheeled Motorized Conveyances
- Mace, pepper spray, and personal tasers/stun guns
- Outside alcohol
- Laser pointers
- Digital scanners
- Glass containers
- Illegal drugs/controlled substances
- Grills or fireworks
- Storage items larger than 10x10x10
- Drones
- Balloons
- Flammable substances (spray paint, silly string, etc.)
- Walkie-talkies, HAM radios, scanners
- Any other items deemed inappropriate by event staff
✓ Permitted Items
All permitted items will be inspected prior to admission to the flight line. It is strongly recommended that spectators minimize the number and size of permitted items to reduce access time into the flight line area:
- Sunscreen
- Ear protection (plugs and headphones)
- Sealed water bottles and reusable water bottles (no cases)
- Clear bags
- Sealed ice packs (no loose ice permitted)
- Fanny packs and purses
- Cell phones, cameras, and camcorders
- Folding chairs and camping chairs
- Pre-packaged and/or sealed snack food
- Diaper bags
- Baby food
- Medications/valid prescriptions
- Strollers or wagons
- Umbrellas (handheld)
- Wheelchairs
- Blankets
